Back from NYC with Between the Trees

posted October 14, 2006

Well, I just got back from NYC and the Between the Trees Showcase at the Knitting Factory. Wow, what a great show. I will borrow the words from one individual who put it best, "if a bomb were to go off at the Between the Trees Showcase then the entire music industry would have been in trouble." I can't even count how many legendary music executives were in the audience, but there were a ton of them. Needless to say the showcase went great and you can expect big things from Between the Trees VERY soon.

I also was introduced to a band called Kiteline that is managed by Synergy Management, the same management Company that manages Between the Trees. And I can certainly say that I was extremely impressed with Kiteline's performance and hope to do some work with them in the very near future.

While I was in NYC I met up with producer/engineer/mixer Jon Kaplan (Gavin DeGraw, The Damnwells, Ray Lamontagne) to further discuss his mixing of Matt Collins debut release, "Short and Sweet". Jon is doing a great job and you'll all be very pleased with the album. I also confirmed that legendary mastering engineer Dave McNair (Stevie Ray Vaughan, Bruce Springsteen, Aerosmith, Willie Nelson, Switchfoot, and many more) will be mastering the record. This is great news and I can't wait for you all to hear the record.

Stay tuned for more big announcements involving Between the Trees, Matt Collins and Kiteline SOON!
